As Cleveland’s longest established Synchronized Skating Club, the Cleveland Edges have a long history of competition success. Our Adult team has qualified for the U.S. National Championship every year since 1991. In 2005, the Open Juvenile team was the first Ohio team to ever qualify for the U.S. National State Games Championship, where they placed 2nd. In 2007, the Pre-Juvenile team placed 2nd at the National State Games of America.
During the 2007-2008 season, the Cleveland Edges teams took 5 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals. The Preliminary team took 2nd place in the Midwestern Championships/Sectionals and both the Open Junior and Masters teams took 3rd place in the Midwestern Championships/Sectionals.

Train with the best! The Cleveland Edges are under the direction of Jeff Marshall who has over 28 years of coaching experience. He has coached at least 1 team to every U.S. National Championships since 1986. Jeff was a top competitor in the Senior Men division and is a former figure skating judge. As a delegate to U.S. Figure Skating and a past member of the National Synchronized Skating Committee, his expertise has enabled the Cleveland Edges to become one of the most innovative and respected Synchronized Skating Clubs in the United States.
New Assistant Coach
We are very excited to have Alissa Mariage return to the Cleveland Edges as Assistant Coach for the 2008-2009 season.
Alissa began skating competitively both individually and with the Cleveland Edges when she was only 6 years old and skated for 11 years before attending Miami University of Ohio in 2004. At Miami, she skated four years on the Collegiate Varsity Synchronized Skating team, served for two years on the team leadership council, and was a member of the Miami athletic community’s RedHawk Council her Senior year.
Alissa graduated in May 2008 with a Major degree in Sport Studies and Minor degree in Coaching. She is Gold tested in Moves in the Field and Free Skating Her coaching experience began at age 16 when she began coaching learn to skate, private lessons, and summer camps. She now coaches all levels of moves and freestyle.

Club History
SYNCHRONIZED TEAM SKATING began at the University of Michigan in 1958 as an addition to their hockey program. Since then team skating has become the fastest growing aspect of figure skating throughout the world. Skaters as young as 5 and as old as 75 skate as a group to music. Synchronized skating has been likened to the "Rockettes" On Ice. In 2010 Synchronized Skating will be for the first time, an Olympic event.
The CLEVELAND EDGES SKATING CLUB began in 1985 as two separate groups. The youth program was founded by Marcia Sherman, as the Riverettes, at the Rocky River Ice Rink. At the same time an adult team, the Synchroblades, was founded by Ann Ward at the North Olmsted Recreation Center. In 1992, under the coaching direction of Jeff Marshall, the Synchroblades moved to the Greenbrier F.S.C. and adopted the new name, Cleveland Edges. During the mid 1990's the adult and youth program merged to form the current Cleveland Edges teams. During this time the program represented 3 different figure skating clubs, skating out of 4 different ice arenas. In 2003 the entire program moved to the North Olmsted Recreation Complex to provide a single home for all teams.
